The heart of our work is rooted in the knowledge that children learn best when they are actively engaged with big ideas, rich materials, and a supportive social community. AFIA’s small school environment allows facilitators to create deep learning environments optimized for each child’s development. AFIA students learn how to reason and how to discover solutions for themselves. They are equipped to meet any academic or social challenge. Having a school where children feel like they genuinely belong empowers them to learn and thrive.

Student Service Opportunities

When children serve in their communities, they learn compassion and how to work hard, and they experience the satisfaction and joy that comes when we help others.

Throughout the school year, we seek opportunities for our students to participate in service-oriented activities. This is their community, and when they serve, they know they belong.
